The Awakening Self

Questions You Might Have.

What is nervous system coaching?

Learning to work with your body's state instead of fighting it. The part of you that braces, tightens, and holds its breath under pressure. Through breath, sensation, and awareness, you learn to meet stress and discomfort with calm rather than force.

Do I need to be a freediver, or even an athlete?

No. The breath hold is just the doorway, the clearest place this shows up. What you carry through it is awareness, and it moves into your work, your relationships, and the moments your own body tightens.

What can holding your breath teach you about your life?

When you hold your breath, contractions come. The urge, the tightening, the moment everything says stop. It is not danger, it is your body speaking, and how you meet it is your relationship with discomfort made visible. Life has the same contractions: the hard conversation, the moment that asks too much, the brace before the unknown. The water is simply the clearest place to practice meeting them with awareness instead of panic. What you learn there you carry into your work, your relationships, and your quiet moments. The hold is only the measure. The real practice is learning to breathe, and stay awake, in every part of your life.

Who is Aaron Fisher?

A six time Canadian national record holder in static apnea, and the first Canadian to break seven minutes twenty at a world championship, eight minutes two in competition, and nine minutes in training. His coaching draws on breathwork, psychology, meditation, and years as an athlete, including Ironman, with mental health at the center of it all.

Who is this for?

People who look fine on the outside but feel like they are holding their breath in life. Capable, high functioning, and quietly braced. Whether or not you have ever freedived.

What does working with Aaron look like?

It begins with an application and an honest conversation, not a résumé. If it feels right on both sides, it becomes personal, ongoing coaching, with a small number of people at a time. Coaching is online, so you can work with Aaron from anywhere.
